For some reason I didn’t get around to posting any new articles or drawings for the past month or so but that is all going to change! I had been getting into the habit of writing fairly long posts but in the end it became too much of a time burden during my first couple months as a language teacher in Japan.
So! Here’s a short comic that I sketched out after a fun day teaching English at an elementary school here in Chiba. It’s inspired by something I saw during a lesson I had just been teaching and it reminded me of someone’s English speech at the recent speech contest. The speech had been called ‘Mottainai’ and was all about saving energy during the summer and getting into a good habit of not being wasteful.
I like the phrase ‘mottainai’ but sometimes kids just wanna have fun and leave an electric pencil sharpener running . Who wouldn’t?!
Hope you enjoyed that! I’ll post soon about the recent things I’ve been getting up to in Japan
